second run

A note for those who are new to this site:

this blog was called to live for the purpose of monitoring my process of writing a short story called 'Copper Moon'. I vowed to NOT post pieces. I will post the entire thing when it's ready.
I fancied writing 8-10 pages.
Now I have pieces that make up to like 7-8 pages, but the whole thing is quite incomplete and is totally missing a real plot.
I also said that I will never post again about not writing, so this is where I stop.
I'll be away for the weekend and I do hope to get the necessary solitude and distraction from my everyday life to think deeply about the progress I wish to make.
I'm thinking of getting orderly and coming up with a plot and get it right.
Chances are that the short story will be longer than I thought.
The main character does not seem to be doing anything, basically.
Technically speaking there's no action.
Only characters, 2 of them are important, to be honest.
Considering that it is 8-10 pages long, that really should not be a problem, though.
On the other hand, the lack of action is.
Okay, I'm off.

Scaramouchex,
thanks for visiting my site, I'll be soon off to seeing yours!
The comment you left was sort of funny, though :)

Bernita,

you are so nice to me...Thank you!
Sometimes I keep wondering what will happen to the story once I'm finished with it...
And the same goes re: all my other stuff, the poems, and other stuff...
(Sometimes I wish they were published) - sometimes I wish they were hidden, not available to anyone, but me...

I hope you were able to do the thinking you needed over the weekend. But, don't despair, even if you didn't. If you believe in your characters, it'll come to you - they will "speak" to you about plot, action and all.

Vesper,

Thank you for the kind words. I do hope to return to my characters. This was or another, the story, the project needs to be finished.

Ropi,

Good luck with the story. I've found that keeping a story under 5,000 words really seems to improve your chances of selling it. Thanks for stopping by my site.

What a great title! Hey writing about not writing is therapeutic! Don't bottle it in, let it out. Sometimes you want to gripe about what is not working and through the griping the problem actually might work itself out or you might get great advice from others to help you work out when you are stuck. Anytime you write, it is helping the creative muse.

Good luck!

Hello Charles,

thanks you for the good wishes. I have no intention of selling it, though...I am a Hungarian, living in Hungary - who the heck would wish to publish/read my English-language story ?

Ello, you are absolutely right about writing just about anything being useful for the muse. Yet I grew tired of not being able to come up with some improvements - either to the plot/story or to writing itself.
Thank you for popping in!
