The will to write for the history~themed fiction contest is history.
I wanted to shed some light on some of the lesser known part of our history. I thought it was a good motive. An educational purpose.
But without a good story, it's just a motivation and not a story.

With that said, I read a lot, do my duties and try to carry on.
I believe the chance will come.
Sometime.

By the time I find out about contests I seldom am able to finish a story in time. Unless perhaps it is flash fiction. but contest themes come back around so that if I don't finish a story for one round I might have it ready for the next.
Thank you Charles. That does sound reasonable.
In the meantime I started to read a book about that particular historical era.
I think I wanted a young adult protagonist for my story, someone who resembles my son, as most of my thoughts are around him these days. You know he is finishing high school and is applying to a university.
The guilt for not being able to find a story ate me slowly.
But in the book I mentioned I might find someone that is more suitable for me as a character.
Also I started to work on my gastro short story I got back from the first betareader.
